As a fan of monster of the week, i am planning to play the game in dark age era. Has anybody played such a game before ? what would you be your advices ?

And please Fred. Add these things in next book possible.

For those of you have been asking about the “More Weirdness” project…

It’s now being published in association with Evil Hat Productions (as the main rulebook is), instead of me doing everything as I originally planned. The good news is that this will mean it’s a much better print product, but the bad news is that means it takes longer to get it finished.

It’s going to be called Tome of Mysteries.

We’re currently finalising layout, but there’s a way left to go. Be patient! You will be able to get yourself a copy when the stars are right.

I shot myself in the foot last week, but I’m sort of glad I did. I hadn’t adequately prepared for the session, and made some on the fly choices that have changed the mystery fairly dramatically.

What was going to be a standard haunted house, find the remains of the murder victim thing is now a time travelling mystery inside a living house. Instead of being haunted, the house IS the ghost. The players are headed back to 1972 to change the past and prevent the murder from ever taking place – by murdering the murderer!

Or, they might just burn down the house. Either will work.

My first mystery!

My first mystery! The players really enjoyed it. I improvised quite a bit of stuff that isn’t in here. But it was a great setup for future mysteries as I introduced some key players.

One of my favorite moments was after the players realized the mummy’s weakness to fire; the mummy also had an insect form and insect attack. They connected these two facts in the most unexpected, but logical and amazing way: their main weapon for the fight was citronella tiki torches. In fact, the mummy was downed with a tiki torch thrown javelin style.

Quick question for you all.

Quick question for you all. I am a first-time Keeper with a few campaigns in mind for my Hunters. However, one of my Hunters had their wife and child killed by a vampire and for the life of me I can’t think of a good vampire mystery that isn’t campy. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good one, maybe with a Bhalkan vampire or a Dhampir so it’s more scary? Thank you!

HI, I’m starting a new game with some friends and one of them decided they wanted to play the flake so that they could use the contrary ability at every turn to gain xp. I want to let them play what they want without inhibiting them too much, but I’m not sure how deal with this. Does anyone have any ideas?
