The Rusalka

You’re toxic. Once someone is in your arms they can’t get away. You give love freely, and take more than your lovers can give. Everyone knows that you’re bad news, but they still can’t resist you. 

You became what you are because once someone loved you – and then they left you for someone else. Now every relationship you have goes up in flames. You can’t help it. 

Love hurts.

Okay, the Calaca skin is officially released (https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B7MY0xQ1QUJMVnpyQkdwWFF2a1U/edit?usp=sharing if you somehow missed me spamming the link)! It basically lets you play a cheerful and helpful skeleton person. The major influence is the Mexican “Day of the Dead” holiday, with bits and pieces of inspiration coming from stuff like Nightmare Before Christmas, Monster High (specifically the characters C.A. Cupid and Skelita Calaveras), the wedding level of Little Big Planet, MediEvil, and Grim Fandango.  I hope you enjoy it – it was a lot of fun to write!

Surprise! Have another new Monsterhearts skin!

Technically this isn’t new, as a bunch of people have seen an earlier text-only version, but this is updated and now laid out. It’s The Proxy, a skin based on the Slender Man Mythos and its close relatives. 

Since this isn’t technically new, I’m not releasing it through Patreon. Just consider it a bonus! Give him a try in your game and let me know how he works for you, okay?

Here’s my first project for my new Patreon campaign! This is the Beast, a new skin for Monsterhearts. This character type was originally inspired by the classic 1945 horror film The Cat People, but it has several modern influences as well. It hasn’t been heavily playtested yet, so I hope people will use it in their games and let me know how things go.

The thing that is missing for me in Monsterhearts is electronics. The lonely geek that can hack into the CIA Website or your Facebook Account but can’t ask you out for the Dance. Finding happyness and friendship with people over the web and not in your school. Loosing yourself in an MMORPG and missing more and more real life stuff. 

This is not a monster per se (unless you play a Technopath or walking Nanoswarm) but it can be monstrous if it happens to you. You may loose track of what is real and share important life details to people you don’t even know. 

IS this enough for a skin?

Hacking social media profiles to give out conditions

Whining on the forums

Short term Technocontrol 

Planting Memes? 

Cybersex? / sexting?
