A write-up of the first two episodes of a Monsterhearts campaign that I’m currently playing in.
It’s a relatively long read and isn’t really descriptive of mechanics (although if you look hard enough, you might be able to guess what was going on, play-wise)–but hopefully it gives a an idea of one type of story that Monsterhearts can tell.

I’ve a doubt with the hex “Watching”.
Hex casting says:
“To cast them, either expend a sympathetic token during a secret ritual, or meet the target’s gaze and chant at them in tongues.”
Watching says:
“You enter a deep sleep, and begin to see the world through the eyes of the hexed. You can feel their reactions to and impressions of what they are seeing.”
How do you use this with the meet of gazes? You hex someone then enter in a sleep in a future scene?
It’s pretty stupid to meet someone gaze and enter in the deep sleep in front of him, and see the world through his eyes…. ^_^

I’ve recently started a new monsterhearts game with only two players over Hangouts.
I’ve recently started a new monsterhearts game with only two players over Hangouts. Now one of my players mentioned that one of their friends may be interested in joining the game and the other mentioned this as well. I have no problem with this however what I would like is some advice.
Adding new characters can sometimes grind the events of the game to a stop especially if that person is unfamiliar to the story or game. How have you handled the addition of a new player or players into a already ongoing game? How do you fictionally add new supernatural students into the game suddenly? I assume that depending on the skins that is how they would fit however that can only go so far. That also brings up I’m not allowing the Chosen as a skin for that reason as a choice because that would sink whatever ship the players are on.
To reiterate my questions: How have you handled the addition of a new player or players into a already ongoing game? How do you fictionally add new supernatural students into the game suddenly?

Since it can take and give Strings, is it subject to being turned on, manipulated, or shut down?
If you call it into physical being, could you attack it? (Useful if you have Unknowable!)
In the games I’ve encountered, non-Infernals can talk to it when it gains a string on them, either through a Bargaining Ceremony, intimate encounter with the infernal, etc.

Third Session last saturday. It was amazing! The ghost’s old love decide to throw away her quest and embrace her love ofr him. It was a very romantic scene in a park at night. The Hunter discovered the truth about her hunter family and shee is very upset. But she is knowing what is love. She was in her first date without even know it. She knew a guy last week and now they ran together by coincidence. After that he invited to breakfast and tak about being sad or angry. He invited her to trek for the forest next saturday and she accepted!!
Finally, everything become a mess, the ghost was abducted for the bad guys and the Witch and the hunter are going the save him! Wonderful!

It was a mix of supernatural struggles, Eroticism and Badass fights. Woou. So intense! MY players screamed every scene and asked for more and more. Three sex move in total, one veeeeery romantic between a Witch and a Wolf, and other two very very violents (Infernal with NPC’s). Friends fight each other for love! The ghost is being hunted for his old love! (she is an angel) The end was so romantic…. Wooou! Amazing 😛
Ahh and we have two darkers self activation during night, one for the ghost and one for the wolf. Both ends in very very dramatics scene 😛

Pam and Tyrone are barely 18 but have decided to get married because they are soooo in love. You are all invited to the wedding for some reason.
Questions for the players:
– Why are you invited?
– If they are sibling or bestie of one of them, ask them why the respective person isn’t dating them anymore but Pam/Tyrone now?
– Why do you think this wedding is a terrible/awesome idea?
– Who are the bridesmaids?
– Who is the best man?
– Who at this wedding do you want to bone tonight?
– Why must you stop this wedding and how do you want to do it?
– What do their parents think about this wedding?
– What surprise do you have planned for Tyrone?
– What should Pam know before she says yes?
etc. etc.
Young people getting married way too young is full of drama and pathos. A perfect moment to throw monster into.

Inspired by Kimberly Chapman s 3D Choco-Blood Filled Eyeball Cookies I wanted to make blood filled Monsterhearts cookies…and failed miserably. The dough did just not do what it was supposed to do; not with my approximation of Kimberly’s recipe, not with the recipe that came with the cookie pan. I was close to tears and ended up settling for mini-cakes.
The blood (based on some red currant jelly, starch and syrup) consistency turned out nice at first, but I froze the cakes for shipping and I think that somehow spoiled the effect in the end.
I finally have found a fondant that is working well though, thanks Tortentante .
…and i am not giving up on those 3-D cookies yet!
