We’re using the Burned Over playbooks that Vincent’s releasing. Brain-picker, Vigilant, and Medic.

(I went that route because the moves feel a bit more elegant for this group, and match what I’m looking for out of our interactions with the Maelstrom and the denizens of same.)

All the other players are new to pbta-games. I’m new to AW itself, with a couple years playing Masks and such.

The setting is a ruined city which the survivors use as cover from the fae who have razed the larger world – the iron keeps them out of the ruins (mostly).

Excited!

I’ve worked a bit more on my PbtA game. I’d love if anyone would take a look at it, or even playtest it it.

It’s about ideology driven revolutionaries during the height of the French Revolution. I call it, The Revolution eats its children.

Hi all.

Hi all.

Hi all. hoping to start a small Boston face to face group for an ongoing pbta game. I was thinking Monsterhearts or Masks or Urban Shadows or monster of the week would be fun but I’m open to running others if everyone else wants it.

If anyone is interested and lives in the Boston area let me know.

I was thinking we could have weekly meetings at Pandemonium or somewhere else depending… but finding a location shouldn’t be too difficult.

If anyone is interested let me know and I’ll set up a meeting place.

A son learning the truth about his father, a father his mother escaped from.

A son learning the truth about his father, a father his mother escaped from. A teacher alone on the cold school grounds, caught between a marriage offer and the street. A ‘patient’ confined to the halls of the insane, questioning her own mind. A showgirl trapped among the carnival’s tents as surely as the locked doors of a manor. A guard finding herself locked up with the prisoners instead of them being locked up with her. Bluebeard’s Bride is a game of feminine horror from Magpie Games, wherein the eponymous bride finds herself wandering her husband’s home, experiencing the horrors within, and facing a terrible choice. When the Bride looks into a shattered mirror, however, her image splits and warps into something new. Such is what happens in the latest supplement for Bluebeard’s Bride, the Book of Mirrors!

Due to the huge number of PbtA related news in the podcast we opted to split the program, and after a lot of problems here’s our first try on YouTube.

We’ll keep the podcast format for interviews and comments on rules, and use the live video format for news. Also, both formats will migrate to the other in due time.

Another point to mention is that thanks to youtube we finally have transcriptions of the program. Only spanish and not as good as desired, but better than nothing I hope.

Let me introduce you to “Éxito Parcial” (Partial Success) in not-so-quite live: https://youtu.be/jQPOIUTVSGU

Battle/subterfuge moves’ utility

Hey folks, I’m wondering whether anyone has experience with the subterfuge moves in the Battle Moves chapter. They seem extremely specific and not necessarily integral to many experiences of AW. Does anyone know why they were put in? Do they see frequent use? What do you think the downside would be of not incorporating these into play? Have you used them effectively?

Also, if it’s two PCs and one wants to turn the tables on the other, who gets to roll? The first person to suggest it?

I was wondering how many kickstarters (notably for pbta games) used in fact Drivethru to print and deliver their games (or another print on demand service)? Even among KS that do not officially give you a coupon (such as the Sprawl or Pigsmoke)?

Also, how is the global quality? I know Lulu and Createspace, which are acceptable even though not perfect, but for a first publication in the US as an independent, I think I’ll have to do with Drivethru.
