Some friends of mine, long running RPG card makers Artemis Games, have just launched their Kickstarter: Sci-Fi Concept Cards. They are producing three decks of playing cards with details for randomly drawing sci-fi gaming NPCs, locations, and planets, definitely gameable material for any Uncharted Worlds game. Great for inspiration in plotting campaigns or for getting past the sudden need for extra details at the gaming table.

Can anyone recommend a book series with the flavor of UW? I don’t want a long series… a little more than a trilogy is good. Something along the lines of Firefly/Serenity or Dark Matter… where it’s mostly about a ship’s crew trying to make ends meet.

E.g., Star Trek: Bajorans, Cardassians, Romulans, and Ferengi are straight-up Humanoids. Betazoids and Vulcans are Evolved: both have the Telepathy skill to reflect their innate telempathic abilities. Klingons in TOS are Humanoids; after that, they’re probably Evolved with the Strength skill from the Primal career–or they tend to have the Primal origin and remain Humanoid.

apparently this train has no breaks! we released another episode today, this one involves desert tribes, freeing slaves, explosions and LOTS of missiles. I think this is the most space opera episode we’ve done. And we got a spiffy new logo!

I’m kicking around stuff for a campaign and wasn’t happy with the Debt rules. The new Debt System Sean posted is an improvement, but I felt it was a little too fiddly. I decided to tweak it, taking some inspiration from AW Hx mechanics and here is what I came up with. Interested to hear what folks think.
