I could use some help clarifying how to handle Command rolls. Specifically, how to handle a situation where a difficult or dangerous task has been delegated to a crew. How do you resolve whether that task actually succeeds or not?

The Command roll basically covers getting them to do a task, and some guidance on the severity of any consequences, but doesn’t cover success/failure of the attempt. I’m not sure how to best handle that.

Factions!

Factions!

Factions!

My understanding of factions is that of however many movers and shakers your galaxy might have, these are the upper crust. The Galactic Empire, Weyland Yutani, etc.

What do you do with groups that are notable but not quite on the scale of factions? Say, Jabba the Hutt’s operation.

And how might you set up factions for a Star Trek-inspired game? Would you just use the major empires (Romulans, Federation, etc) as factions?

I am a little confused about harm and healing. First, how does Patch Up interact with Critical injuries? The critical injury description on page 60 says they can be “stabilized by patch up,” but the Patch Up move doesn’t actually mention critical injuries in any of its results.

Also, are debilities totally separate from injuries? They way I see it debilities are descriptive, and just become additional potential threats or adversities to overcome. It seems like most injuries, in that case, would also come with the effects of a debility. If you get shot with a gun, you have a major injury, but also I would make the player roll to overcome adversity in a lot of circumstances.

How are injuries and debilities mechanically distinct?
