So I feel bad, like I missed something. In a forgotten alley way The wolf, specter and tainted are cornered by Owl Court assassins. The tainted changes form and holds the rear against the Owl leader and two assassins, the wolf & spectre team up at the other end of the alley. I treated the Owls like a gang vs the tainted (3 vs 1). AND when he targets the leader I made him Keep your cool to avoid attacks from the other two members. I felt bad because he spent advances to get a +3 Blood (using the One Shot rules from CRB) and he was rolling hot…10+ 

but taking punishment from missing those Keep your cool checks.

Did I screw that up?

Hi all,

are there any tips around for playing a one-shot? We probably have 6h of time but its very unlikely that we will continue in the same constellation.

Just playing the first session as is in my usual PbtA-Experience fun enough, but I wonder if there are ways to crank it up.

Especially with Urban Shadows specific mechanisms like Corruption.

So any ideas or pointers to posts would be nice.

Finally manged to get my hands on the final release PDF! Money’s been tight, but when I saw it for sale on DTRPG, I just had to find the cash. I’m glad I did! It looks so sleek, so much more fleshed out than the last beta version I saw. Superb!

I’ve been poring through it with my creativity helmet on. I’ll probably get around to updating my old homebrew archetypes, now that the rules are finalized and I have a better understanding of how the AW engine runs. Maybe I’ll post it here, if I remember. (I’ll at least be doing The Fox. Oh how I love me some kumiho.)

playbook and Harm question:

the book says you heal harm based on the severity, MC moves, ecc.

The playbook say you heal a box a day.

I think this has alreday been covered but, having recently lost my google-fu black belt, I couldn’t find a damn thing.

Can you help?

It turns out that bargaining with a powerful archmage to send you to Mab’s fortress in the sky above Chicago, allowing said archmage to abscond with her brand-new amulet for an as of yet unspecified purpose, and then proceeding to piss off both Mab and Titania and allow a war between the two courts to start is a bad idea.

Needless to say, as MC, I had a great time.
