Some thoughts of the Cruiserweight Classic so far:

– Mustafa Ali and Kenneth Johnson really impressed me.  Johnson’s still a little rough around the edges, and Ali threw a couple of strikes that looked a little weak, but overall, I really want to see these two get more airtime even though they’re already eliminated from the tournament.

– Daniel Bryan has a very bright future ahead of him on commentary, and he’s got great chemistry with Mauro Ranallo.  I love it when they both geek out simultaneously about a particularly awesome spot.  “SHOOTING STAR PRESS!”

– I want TJ Perkins to go far in this tournament, he’s VERY interesting.  Ditto Cedric Alexander, but it seems safe to assume (sadly) that Kota Ibushi’s going to knock his teeth out in round two.

– I have never seen Tozawa wrestle before this, but now I’m a fan.  Any suggestions on his past matches?

Overall, I’m really enjoying the CWC, and I’m glad that TripleH has said repeatedly in interviews that this is not going to be a “one and done” issue, that they definitely want to do more with cruisers in general down the line.

I once promised a recap/review, but one of the players in my game did it much better than I could have!

I got to play Nathan Paoletta’s World Wide Wrestling RPG, and holy shit was it a fun game.

It’s fun for wrestling fans, it’s fun for non-fans, and every bit of it facilitates high-energy play for everyone at the table.

Has anyone thought about using World Wide Wrestling for something like MMA or even Street Fighter?

Has anyone thought about using World Wide Wrestling for something like MMA or even Street Fighter? The basic format seems to fit as far as booking matches is like any sort of fighting tournament. But then there’s kayfabe and how the matches are booked to win ahead of time.

I was thinking of maybe putting together a simple hack, but also it could just be run straight I guess. Kayfabe could just be the narrative of the fight if you’re doing something like Street Fighter. And breaking kayfabe is like breaking character or breaking the 4th wall maybe.

What got me here is I was toying with my own basic moves for a SF like game and I started thinking they were basically like WWW. So, why not just use what is already there?

I’m definitely not watching live, but I’m gonna try pretty hard to keep up with the G1 this year.

Night 1 report: Holy shit, the headlining Okada/Marufuji (who’s on loan from NOAH) match is dope as hell, at least from the perspective of someone (like me) who hasn’t seen Marufuji before. If you watch one match from this show, make it this one. I also really enjoyed the Tanahashi/SANADA match.

Hello Wrestle Fans!

Today is Saturday July 16th! And it’s a beautiful day for some exciting Sports Entertainment!

This is the organizational thread for Saturday Morning Main Event, a weekly pick-up game of World Wide Wrestling. It requires no experience with the game, we’ll teach you everything you need to know. If you’d like to start a promotion, just let us know and we’ll be happy to help you along the process.

When we get 4 or more players and it’s after 12:00 EST we can get the show started. If you want to tag in, just let us know and we’ll figure out a way to get you in. If you want to talk about your exploits in the squared circle be sure to use the hashtag #SMME

Please prepare a character and a NPW before start time, as that will greatly speed up the process of getting the game started.

If you want to take a look over the Heat Map and other Documents don’t hesitate to go to the #SMME Folder by following this link: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B8vBGcQnMZr9WUN5YUhSanB5THc&usp=sharing

I’ll be posting an official Kickstarter update over the weekend, but things are getting very close for WWW:II.

I’ll be posting an official Kickstarter update over the weekend, but things are getting very close for WWW:II. Gregor’s final essay text is the last piece of writing I’m waiting on. All the art is done. The initial layout is almost done. The cards are done (and I’m awaiting a second proof deck to confirm that they’re ready to order en masse). The shirts are done and in hand. Upper level rewards: the jackets are in process at LVAC, I need to kick off the mask-making process with Closet Champion, and I need to design and order Joe Zantek’s belt.

Unless something very unexpected comes up (which is always a possibility!) I should be able to at least order the first proof of the book by the end of the month.

If you want some inspiration for International Incident-related stuff, check out the WWE Cruiserweight Classic, btw. The way they’re presenting it as very sport-based and really focusing on the international backgrounds of the competitors is totally in tune with the tone of the supplement.

I know this is late notice but, I have an extra ticket for NXT Live on Friday night in Cincinnati.

I’ve watched The Final Deletion twice now and I’m still trying to put it in WWW context.

Hey Folks, no Saturday Morning Main Event. I woke up late with a cold. Definitely next week. Maybe later in the day.
