I’ve been playing in a Worlds in Peril game for two issues now (run by Eran Aviram). We seem to hit a point were we have multiple conditions and each roll got a -2, -3 penalty, which reduce our success rates drastically.

Of course you can burn bonds to succeed anyway, but it seems a bit excessive to me to burn several bonds in one session.

I’m always comparing the game to Dungeon World, since I published that game in Hebrew and it’s the Apocalypse World variant I’ve the most experience with.

In DW, at lower levels, you get about the same rate of failure. But each time you fail, you get XP. Beginning characters in DW can earn a level about every session, up to level 4 or 5, at which time you’ve improved your stats by 2 points already and got better modifiers to your rolls, increasing your success rate.

I don’t know what my point is, beside my personal feeling we fail too much.

The origin book “my legacy” gives a character a bond of 4 points with “the past”.

Whats the use in the character sheet for the “Working Toward” and “Psych Profile” fields?

I have a question about the Bond Threshold in ongoing play that I couldn’t find had been asked here before.

What happens if a move tells you to take a new Bond with a character but you already have the maximum number of Bonds that your Bond Threshold allows? Does it simply not happen, or does your Threshold increase by 1 to accommodate the new bond?

Hello all!

Hello all!

Hello all!

I’m new to Worlds in Peril, and I’m about to run a game completely in chat (Hangouts, text only). I have some experience with Dungeon World (I’ve edited the Hebrew, at vanor.co.il), but never actually ran a game; this is also my first Worlds in Peril game, and my first chat game!

So I’d love to hear any advice you guys might have, especially on how to keep the conversation going in a text-based medium. I’m concerned about slow-typers missing their chance to engage during a quickly developing scene.

Quick question as I sit here preparing to run some Worlds in Peril at Conception here in the UK this week.

In the rather awesome comic Saudade sweeps both Cereberus & Kannon aside after some bad dice rolling. My question is, is this simply the fact both rolling badly, or is it a move that Saudade has that the low rolls allow the EiC to trigger?

A cheeky ask, any chance to see her and the snipers ‘sheets’ 🙂 ?
