This may seem like an obvious question but in the Monsterhearts-ish media I’ve watched there’s often a mystery going on between the relationship scenes. (“Who is the Kamina” being the impetus for making Scott & Alison’s lives difficult on Twen Wolf, for instance.) Does Gaze Into The Abyss cover investigating stuff like that?

Question – I’ve been re-re-re-watching Young Justice and a lot of the time, the Team is facing groups of villains.

Question – I’ve been re-re-re-watching Young Justice and a lot of the time, the Team is facing groups of villains. Most of the examples I’ve seen (and the one time I’ve played) have a team of kids facing a single foe, or occasionally a squad of mooks. How do folks manage things like the Team vs the Injustice League where there are lots of folks handing out Powerful Blows.

Also, and I may have missed this, is there a mechanic for “and then you both get gassed and wake up in Harm’s dungeon”? In other games, I’d hand everyone a Fate / Drama / Hero point. Should I award Team for that?

Lastly, I know that one could easily make the YJ Team with playbooks, but I’m fuzzy on making villains. Has anyone thrown together villain cards for the various villains in YJ, just so I can get a handle on how to adapt the fiction to the rules? The Villain Deck is awesome but I’m not sure how Rampage (Villain Deck) compares to Solomon Grundy or the Abomination.

Are there versions of the playbooks with the art missing, so we could paste in images of our own characters?

Are there versions of the playbooks with the art missing, so we could paste in images of our own characters? Similarly, is there a blank playbook template anywhere?

Thanks

So I’m brainstorming a MotW adventure for Owlcon and I wanted to pick the brains of folks who have done this before.

So I’m brainstorming a MotW adventure for Owlcon and I wanted to pick the brains of folks who have done this before. Usually when I run stuff at cons, I prefer to make pregens, often times using characters everyone’s familiar with (for instance, I ran a Mutants and Masterminds round last year with the Guardians of the Galaxy). But character creation in MotW is so quick I was wondering if folks had had success with giving folks a list of playbooks to choose from and just taking off from there.  Thoughts?

So I’m thinking of doing a demo of WiP for my regular group, to see if we like it.

So I’m thinking of doing a demo of WiP for my regular group, to see if we like it. I was thinking it’d be easiest if I I just handed them pregens of familiar heroes like the Avengers or Guardians of the Galaxy. Has anyone built either group of folks (and maybe, if I’m really lucky, some of their usual foes)?

So I’ve recently discovered MOTW via rpg.net and it’s taking immense acts of willpower not to buy 1st ed knowing that 2nd ed is coming out next month. Since I don’t think my regular group would go for it, I assume I’ll run it as a one shot for a con. The title came to me while reading the playbooks on the web. A weekend of obsessively combing youtube for videos to tear apart later and here you go. It’s definitely a first draft but I wanted to share it with folks who’d like it.
