Do we have an eta on a finished project? And do you have a price range in mind? Thanks, :)

  1. Hi Harrison. My current goal is to have the PDF ready for mid-September. It’ll likely be tight, mostly because I’m not in 100% control of my schedule/free time.

As for the price range, I’ve been strongly urged to set it somewhere between 10$ and 15$. I’m leaning towards the latter, but I’m one of those designers who has the compulsive need to sell myself short, thus the lower price point is looking tempting hahah.

  2. To top off this question, Sean do you think you will offer the books also through normal Distribution or offer the Kickstarter backers the opportunity to upgrade to physical if they foolishly (like me) only backed the PDF level? I think I saw somewhere, that you plan to offer Softbacks through Drivethru later, that would also be an option. Maybe with a discount voucher for the PDF only backers? 🙂

  3. I’m certainly looking at my options for Print on Demand as well as PDF sales post-launch. Probably Drive-Thru. As for the discount voucher, not a bad idea, I’ll look into that as well.

  4. Hi Sean. DriveThru is the most significant online sales channel for RPGs by a long way, and the PoD option there is a pretty good deal.

Ooh, a tip: check out the PoD requirements for page size and margins, and use them in the layout from early on. Then you’ll just need to output the inside of the book with slightly different PDF settings, rather than redoing the whole thing. (Apols if this is already really obvious.)

(Some friends put me on to your projects, and I’m interested to see how it turns out.)

  5. Oh hey, that’s good advice Tim Gray , thanks. I had considered the printing restrictions of the private publishing, but not DTR’s. Hopefully they line up will enough.
