In the last night WiP game a question came up: how a Possible power is played in the fiction? easy is self explanatory. Difficult need time, control or concentration. Borderline in a life threatening situation. But how a possible power is triggered, able to be used or played in the fiction?

In the Fit in move do your character have to face the complication triggered from a 7-9 result with the condition penalties? My guess is that indeed he/she has to apply the condition penalties as long as the EIC triggers the complication during the “healing” scene. Is that right?

Bonds are a weird thing.

Bonds are a weird thing.

Bonds are a weird thing. You as a player choose how many bond points your character have with a person, ally, city, organization, etc.  Then while playing you can lower those bonds by burning them for your character to get a boost, but in turn those persons, allies, citizens or organization lower their perception of you. So, Bonds are not about what your character feel about the bonded but the other way around – how they feel about your character.

Things get complicated when a character Serves and Protects another character. Then, you as a player can choose to create or advance a Bond with you character to that other character. That effectively means that the other character increases his/her perception about you (that sounds good!). But then, the other character can raise his/her bond with you as well, which means that other character can modify your character perception about him/her, effectively messing with your character point of view (which sounds weird): “Hey, thanks for helping me! I’m sure your are now more engaged with me, don’t you? (I raise a bond with you).

Does it sound right?

I understand you don’t try to cover any superhero ever published but I miss an origin book like “Serendipity” or “Being in the right/wrong place at the right/wrong time”.

For instance, Darkhawk found the gemm that gave his his powers, Green Lantern also found the ring, All Bloodlines characters (Hitman, Gunfire, etc.) survived an spinal fluid-sucking alien attack that bestowed them with powers , etc.

Just an idea… 🙂

Negative Bonds.

Negative Bonds.

Negative Bonds. I’m making a demo PC for my players. It has the Redeem Myself Drive Book that urges me to take a negative Bond. Question: are these negative bonds without compensation to balance bond points and increase Bond Threshold? Or do I get a Bond point to compensate?

In tend to think they are without compensation, but I’m asking just in case ;)
