Next phase in my school cards will most likely be Events and troubles. I don’t have the structure for troubles yet but the event seems promising.

So the random generator now could be [Event] supervisor [Faculty Teacher] with [Influence]. [Student] ([Power]) has [Trouble] with [Student] ([Power]). There is [Twist] happening in [Location] involving [Support]

I have Faculty, Students, Powers and Support covered – Need to do few of the other types that we can test the generator and then increase the number of Events and Transfer students (perhaps powers)

Is there any timetable when stuff will start coming out? I think I read somewhere that the main book pdf could be soonish? What about the other scenarios?

Not trying to be impatient, just thinking about future campaigns for spring and summer – and potentially some 0ne-shots for future cons.

I have used powers, directly engage and defend, but each has a bit strange feel, expecially on the stuff you choose.

I though on adding a label shift thing for this.

So if you are trying to rush into burning building I ask “Do you see yourself brave enough? Do you succeed?”

If you succeed increase Danger (and reduce something), if you can’t do it increase Mundane (and reduce something).

The idea is here that overcoming a threshold – even without somebody saying you are something – can by itself define your self image somewhat though reflection.

The situation need to be really major and definative to have definitive Label change, but I think I need something like this.

Other way could be that I handle Fire, Fear etc to have infleence over a person and the infleunce need to be overcomed.

Any ideas?

Again a great session(s) in our historic superhero campaign using Masks.

Decided to divide the thing to two parts to have each time relatively similar weight, though the latter worked a bit better in the end. First half was 1942 game with Legacy and Doomed as playbooks and was a grim and gritty world where the heroes were adults and fugitive heroes fighting agains both Japanese invaders and Hydra controlled Californian government. The game ended up to be one of urban decay, a bit like in Daredevil. This took us from 1500 pm to 1800 pm. Three hours for a short session. After game talk and food break took about half hour so we started new game about 1830 pm which took us to about 2330 pm. The latter ended up being 5 hour game which was great.

Latter half was the younger selves being on tropical island on a school expedition / filming camp like a thing. The jump from “future” to past allowed me to introduce a boy who died in the earlier session and also foreshadow quite a bit themes that could be happening in the “future”. Legacy and Janus teamup worked well here, also the NPC supers cast is more extensive here so the drama worked better. While Masks works well for our older charactes too, it really shines with the teen angs. The plot didn’t go really far as we had a big theme of fighting school bully, competition for the film roles and Legacy and Janus both hooking up with their girlfriends more closely. We went full on on the Bro gang with the Legacy and the bravado was awesome to watch. 🙂

Really love this game – still not giving out potential fir the characters as we keep them stable for most part. For test purposes both did unlock an additional move from their playbook.

Last weekend had again fabulous fun with Masks. 🙂 Two players with Legacy and Janus, would love to use this for larger group, but works surprisingly well still.

We had drama, friendship troubles, mysteries and superhero encounters. Its really surprising how much fun can be had with so few stats and moves. We played from 14.30 to 23.30 with short break and the game didn’t stall. I’m a bit hesitant on the potential though, as I don’t want want the Labels to increase and there are only so much Moves on the playbooks. I think I need to create alternate ways to expand characters as potential.
