If you change playbooks, do you keep your other advancements or do you restart to zero as if you created a new character? Also, what about the abilities? Does the player keep them as they transition to the next playbook or will the player need to reimagine them to fit the next playbook? (Of course changing to a Beacon would require the player to lose powers or have them severely weakened.)

Currently running a game right now and one of the players had enough advancements to choose “Change Playbooks”.

Just finished a hectic session of Masks. Did the Mapletree High prom go uneventfully?

What do you think?

The Roll20 tabletop ended up a bit hectic too (disclaimer – the artwork isn’t mine, it’s scavenged from talented people across the internet for personal and grateful use)

Angie/Seraphim our Janus was accompanied by true blue junior hero Cadet who found his lack of a battlesuit to be a small impediment when the Storm Knights turned up, equipped with technology from TwoBlades’ homeworld and with a clear mission to abduct our favourite feline Outsider… The session ended with our heroes fleeing for safety to lick their wounds and regroup.

Just come up with a great concept for a Beacon and thought I’d share.

You know Baby from that movie Baby Driver? This would be a character with his supernatural talent behind the wheel, and the rest of the team would be younger kids who don’t have their driver’s licenses yet. You’d have to get the whole group to agree not to take any of the powers that make cars obsolete, I suppose, but the idea of the team carpooling everywhere in a borrowed station wagon with a team logo amateurishly stenciled on the front is too good – and too quintessentially Masks – to pass up.

I wonder if retrofitting the vehicle rules (or perhaps the whole Driver playbook) from AW 2e would work?

Looking for help on a teleport move.

Looking for help on a teleport move.

Looking for help on a teleport move. As in “When you juryrig an Earth bound portal to send you to Mars instead, roll + mcguffin”

On a hit you get to Mars and choose three, on a 7-9 choose two..

– You are in the exact place you needed to be.

– You are at the exact moment you needed to be.

– Your arrival went unoticed.

– The portal can bring you back.

– Your departure went unoticed.

Apologies, I’m not super phone savvy so I might not have done this correctly.

Apologies, I’m not super phone savvy so I might not have done this correctly. Maybe copy-pasting would have been better.

Anyway, I asked this elsewhere, and while I have gotten some sympathy and the good suggestion to ask before assuming, I thought perhaps people here have already done this/have ideas/can point me in the right direction.

Does anyone run Masks in seasons with a soft restart between them?

Does anyone run Masks in seasons with a soft restart between them? We are about to do so in our group and it would be interesting to hear what people have done along the lines of the questions and back story that you generate before the first session.

What about character changes and advancement? We are kind of tempted to allow players to remake their PCs using whatever playbook they want, but wonder if that be better with free advancements.

Once per session, you can affirm either your

heroic or secret identity to switch your Mundane

with your mask’s Label.
