Little unsure as to exactly how healing with something like hospital treatment would be intended to work “as written”: as harm is possibly a combination of a few different wounds, if receiving treatment for all of them, should all be reduced by 1-harm, or would you specifically choose a given wound to be reduced?  Or does it no longer matter where the individual harm was contributed at that point?

In talking through things with the player of the Monstrous character afterwards, I’ve come to realize he may be “in” the wrong playbook. The thing about the Monstrous type is that it expects you to be both a monster and buy in to the idea that the monster in question is pretty damned good at working magic (as Use Magic is the only default Weird move, and you always have Weird +3 in this playbook, it’s kind of a waste not to play the character as tho he knows how to Use Magic).

As a Frankenstein’s Monster type with a murky-at-best memory, he’s more about the physical confrontations and not all that alert to magic, so a supernatural-creature-whose-best-stat-is-Tough is much more in keeping. So we’ll probably be switching him over to something like Summoned or Constructed. Summoned certainly fits how he seems to like to fight — lots of using the environment to bash things.

Given that I’m making some updates, I might take a look at the inspirations list.

If there’s some monster hunter media that you think belongs in the inspiration lists, please let me know!

There will be a few small revisions and clarifications, which will be available to those of you who already have a copy.

We’re working with Generic Games to produce an Evil Hat print edition of Monster of the Week! More details when we have them, as the deal is young. 🙂

Took advantage of Lulu.com’s sale last week and finally added a physical copy of this game to my library.

I’m doing a series of illustrations about my Wronged histories  and here’s the history he shares with the Expert Philipp Schwarz:

“You saved their life, back when they were a pathetic newbie hunter. Ask them what you saved them from”.

This is a campaign set in 1870, we call it MotW Victorian Age and next Thursday we’re going to close this (very long) adventure.

Told myself I’d wait to run or play the game before I made one, but then I had time on my hands and not enough motivation for other things.

Ah, well. 🙂
