This revised version seems to be play testing well…many thanks to Michael Sands and Felix Girke for their insightful comments and helpful advice.

Any additional feedback from the Tavern very much appreciated!

if anyone is willing to play test this in a group and report back I will try to write a “thank you” reward for you your group.

Shoggoth!

Shoggoth!

Shoggoth! Anybody got any adventures or ideas using them? Currently thinking of a group of stooges getting their mitts on a collection of lovecraftian devices. One turns a person or persons into a shoggoth. So was thinking of a small, medium, and large as the baddies get more sacrifices to use.

Figuring on something weird happening along with the damage and probably fire being the weakness? Nothing too crazy. Then add in some moves and ideas related to their protoplasmic state.

Hi, all!

Hi, all!

Hi, all! I’m going to run a Monster of the Week campaign starting this Fall. I’ve run the MotW system before and I think it will lend itself well to the first part of the campaign. The setting will be somewhat urban, there will be a regular stream of big-bads for the Hunters to deal with, and the fiction is ripe for the players and me to co-construct the world and mythos. However, there will eventually come a time when the Hunters must “go beyond the wall,” as it will be, and leave the urban setting behind.

I’m not sure how to run a MotW campaign in a “journey through the unknown” setting. I had even considered switching systems for the second part! But I suspect I can supplement MotW with some custom player and keeper moves.

Has anyone run MotW campaign outside a consistent setting? Any ideas for adapting the system with new moves and mechanics?

Thanks!

Greetings all.

Greetings all.

Had my first crack at making a custom playbook based on a weird joke/request from a player. Its sort of an alternate take on the professional, someone a little higher up on the food chain than the typical boots-on-ground archetype that professional playbook references.

Just thought I’d share for any 30 Rock fans or for folks looking for a more hands-off, big picture, behinds the scenes kind of player option.

Let me know what yall think!

Hi, i decided to type up a quick document to cover some “alternate Ranged Weapon’ design rules.

So… whatcha think? The idea is to allow ‘ranged options’ that don’t rely on firearms, provide an alternate ranged weapon setup for a Chosen, and generally supplement/replace current ranged weapons as needed, depending on setting, and magic/technology level.

Thanks in advance!

Did another introductory game.

Did another introductory game.

Did another introductory game. This time had the five people plus another 3. 8 people makes for a tough game. So got to divide up the groups into teams, barfight, CSI, and conspiractly theory. Then had the group divide again, into team daughter’s house and team corpse digger. Baddy was an alp masquerading as a serial killer. It provided a good comparison to the 1st I ran where it was a lot of kick ass and act under pressure. This was manipulate, use magic, and help out.

Sold a copy of the game from the store! So apparently I am doing something right!

Seems to me I remember a custom playbook called “The Ride”? Sort of like creating Kit or the Mystery Machine?

Does anyone still have access to this?

Hi! Need some Keeper help!

Hi! Need some Keeper help!

I was asked to run a last-minute session tonight with little lead time and I’m looking for a mystery akin to Friday the 13th. I didn’t know if anybody had anything like that on-hand.

Hit me with your bases supernatural super-powered killers! Or just any mystery you think would be appropriate for a small suburban northeastern town!
