Hi everyone!

Hi everyone! The SG2048 “Living Sprawl” game has really been taking off for us. We’ve completed 8 episodes so far, and completed one “plot arc”. I’ve been cheating a bit and using the RSVPs to nudge the mission prep toward narratives that would most interest the players (rather than prepping missions completely blind to attending players), but I think the results have been quite good!

Anyways, I wanted to share not one, not two, but three mission reports. This time, all prepared by the players themselves:

The first mission summary is up for The Sprawl: Chinatown. Guan Fu is the team Fixer’s First Mission. It involves three of the four PCs, three of our main locations, and three of our five megacorps, but only one corp they’re aware of at the time.

Not every episode will be a full mission. Some might summarize part or half of a mission at a time, depending on how much happened. The goal is to keep a brisk ~1,000 words.

Question came up tonight during play.

Question came up tonight during play. Our Reporter wanted to Gather Evidence for a story but while reading the move it seems that you only get to Gather Evidence as a result of spending hold from Nose for a Story. Is this how everyone else has been doing it as well.

Our Reporter currently has 3 stories going on right now. I don’t mind if they use the Gather Evidence move, I mean that’s why they’re the Reporter right, but I was hoping to get some clarity on what has been common practice with my fellow punks.

It looks like MeWe is getting public posting, pages, and video chat.

My players bought a bar, 12 cred btw and not feeling that was enough, and they mentioned a fortune move from apocalypse world. I dont have a lot of experience with AW and would like to get some thoughts on what this base would/could provide.

Extra credit: Advice on vehicular combat and damage? Only 1 instance of this so far in our game. They have an armoured vector thrust vehicle and were engaged with a squad of soldiers with anti-air missiles. I used a soft move to show that if they stayed engaged the armor would be taken out and followed with a hard move of piecing the armor with the missile. They were undamaged and escaped but they also mentioned using AW vehicle rules. Thoughts?

Open thread on the future of this community in the wake of the G+ shutdown

This community has been a wonderful hub for The Sprawl and has played a critical role in developing every product we’ve produced. Thanks to everyone who has been a part of that, from the super-posting gurus to the stealthy lurkers! Unfortunately, while Google+ has been a central hub for the tabletop gaming community since it launched, sadly it has been a hub for basically no one else as far as I can see. It’s not really surprising that they’ve decided to shut down the platform.

This leaves us as a community with some interesting choices about where and how to migrate this community. I’m going to throw a few ideas out there, but I’m most interested in what you all think and any other ideas you might have.

-There is a Facebook page, but I don’t see that as a viable option.

-Perhaps more useful is the existing Reddit community.

-A new direction could be a Discord community.

-other things?
