Do threat clocks advancements happen “on-screen”?

Do threat clocks advancements happen “on-screen”?

In some of the examples, threat countdown clocks tick down early with somewhat mundane stuff at the 3:00, such as two NPC’s meeting each other, not necessarily requiring the PC’s to be present. I get that warning players of impending danger is a MC move I can use, but sometimes it doesn’t make fictional sense for the PC’s to be present at that scene. So can I cloak a move to have it happen anyways, but not inform the players that it happened or should I look for other opportunities?

Do you assign a faction to all threats in the world?

Do you assign a faction to all threats in the world? For instance, building on the character creation q&a, ive got a number of gods and monsters and villains who i want to work into the story. Do i assign them a faction, or are factions just for NPCs invoked to research or combat these threats.

Looking for some help in building out a clock with some interesting triggers.

Looking for some help in building out a clock with some interesting triggers. The Night’s mystique and authority have faded and members of the faction are looking to be revered again. The long-term plan is building a multimedia empire, and the first Threat is called The Last Late Show, where a werewolf-as-furry hosts a late show. Through the show, a kind of ritual-induced possession occurs. Over time, they’ll become fully possessed by this cult. The 12:00 point on the clock is that the Cult begins to move outward and spread across the city/region. The 11:00 point is that the ritual is complete and the Cult is forged (the humans can’t be saved any more). Where I need help is some other portents earlier in the game. Thanks, community!

Some doubts arose in our game this afternoon:

– One of the PCs is a vampire and the question is regarding its web. What if someone asks her to pay a debt and do X? Do they get entangled in the vampire’s web for requesting a favor and come out with a debt to the vampire even when they came to demand a prior debt to be paid? Do they get entangled in your web and debt you even if you Refuse to pay that debt? Does just the mere fact of asking qualify?

Or does it not apply because the favor is the payment for a debt, so you only get entangled in the vampire’s web when you come to ask with nothing to back you ??

– What if the vampire Puts a face to a name and gets a 10+? The NPC owes him a debt. Does that also mean the NPC is in her web?

– Can you Mislead, distract or trick someone into asking you something and thus entering your web and owing you 1 debt?
