Going to run actual 1st session tomorrow.
Going to run actual 1st session tomorrow. We did chargen and world building (Fictional version of Seattle, mashed up with Portland and Vancouver called Rain City!).
But actual first RP session is tomorrow. We have a ton of good back story and relationships, so the question is:
Should I ignore the start of session mechanic on that first session, in favor of hard-framing to get them all together?
I am looking for a “best bets” kind of feedback, it seems like the start of session is really meant for on-going session not that first one.
Thanks!

Hey!
Hey! I just noticed the Urban Shadows play documents were updated recently, and I think there might be something missing from the Threats and Storms sheet.
The first page lists the five different types of threats and their sub-types (revolution, power play, passion, ritual and territory), but the second page only provides moves for three of the five types (passion, ritual and territory).
Loving the look of the new MC and Threat sheets. 😀 Not sure if they had been up before or if March was the first time, either way I was still using the playtest ones like a sucker. 😉

I posted here about my difficulties with combat in a recent US game I ran.
I posted here about my difficulties with combat in a recent US game I ran. I’m still not entirely sure how to do it and I’m always looking for more examples of play in AW games.
I found this really great write-up from the Dungeon World side of things called “A 16 HP Dragon”, very inspirational: http://www.latorra.org/2012/05/15/a-16-hp-dragon/
