Question – I’ve been re-re-re-watching Young Justice and a lot of the time, the Team is facing groups of villains. Most of the examples I’ve seen (and the one time I’ve played) have a team of kids facing a single foe, or occasionally a squad of mooks. How do folks manage things like the Team vs the Injustice League where there are lots of folks handing out Powerful Blows.

Also, and I may have missed this, is there a mechanic for “and then you both get gassed and wake up in Harm’s dungeon”? In other games, I’d hand everyone a Fate / Drama / Hero point. Should I award Team for that?

Lastly, I know that one could easily make the YJ Team with playbooks, but I’m fuzzy on making villains. Has anyone thrown together villain cards for the various villains in YJ, just so I can get a handle on how to adapt the fiction to the rules? The Villain Deck is awesome but I’m not sure how Rampage (Villain Deck) compares to Solomon Grundy or the Abomination.

So in a team lineup of Nova Beacon Bull Newborn, When do I ask the Newborn team Question?

So in a team lineup of Nova Beacon Bull Newborn, When do I ask the Newborn team Question? Before the Bull? After The Bull but Before the Nova? Between the Nova and Beacon?

My Instincts say that it is the last of these options since the Nova establishes a location and then the Newborn can expound on where specifically they were discovered in that location, of course, I can also see it earlier with the Nova more describing where the fight ended up finishing. Any advise would be appriciated.

Ever since reading Masks (and with all the talk of the Hulu series) I wanted to run a “Runaways”-Oneshot/Mini-campaign.

Anything else I should think about?

(SPOILER for the premise of Runaways Vol.1 following)

Premise:

“You knew each other from somewhat regular get togethers of your families when the grownups did some boring meetings. Somehow you got into a secret place and all discovered your parents were sacrificing someone. You barely fled the ritual before your evil parents could kill you by using your newly discovered abilities, now your only chance seems to stick together as a team. What do you do?”

I am also thinking about changing the “When our team first came together…” questions to also define more of “The Pride” (since this will probably be the main antagonist for the game)

Anything else?

Another idea would be to start the game with the kids trying to escape and letting them choose their playbooks, abilities and moves while doing so, but that might require some more planning for the setup.

I’d rather ask “what did you do to X’s parents to help you escape?” type questions at the start of the game.

Are there versions of the playbooks with the art missing, so we could paste in images of our own characters?

Hey all, just another quick question that I think I know the answer to, but would like to make sure.

I have a player who wants to take a move from another playbook, as one of the optional advancement choices. However, they want to know what moves are they allowed to take when it comes to moves that are very tied to another playbook’s abilities (for example, the Nova’s flares, the Doomed Doom signs and Sanctuary, etc).

Is it all free game, or only the ones that could be applied universally?

Need a clarification on something that’s been bugging me for a while.

So if an NPC who isn’t an adult but does have a significant relationship with a PC is clearly trying to shift said PC’s labels, but the NPC doesn’t already have Influence over the PC, what’s supposed to happen mechanically, if anything? And if nothing is supposed to happen mechanically, why not?

I had a realization while watching the second season that Stranger Things is a little like a Masks game with a Nova and four (or five) Beacons.

The Behind the Masks, with MC moves, of the extra playbooks (The Reformed, etc.) are already out there?
