One the Masks Discord server we’re having trouble figuring something out, and were wondering if people here maybe new. If you have the Transformed move Not My Body and zero conditions marked, would you roll at -2 then? Or is 0 the minimum number you have to roll with?
I’m starting to upload our new MASKS series on CharismaToAC.

Issue #2 – The First Day of School sees the Super Punks dealing with the drama of their first day of school. Our young heroes first have to navigate daily life, then have to thwart a plot that could alter the very fabric of time!
The Super Punks are:
The Protege Hawk, real name Marshal, played by Kollin.
The Beacon Jax, real name Jasper, played by Mel.
The Innocent Wheels, real name Russ, played by Adam.
The Delinquent Deke, real name Memo, played by Chris.
So, what is the world like outside of your Halcyon City?
So, what is the world like outside of your Halcyon City? Is it straight up real world Earth (which some supers coloring)? Do you use expy nations like Biyalya and Sokovia? Or do you do a straight up fictional world?
I’m playing a highly “Young Justice” inspired game (with bits of Xaviers Academy and Hogwarts), so I was thinking of using expys like Relasia… but it feels a little silly to me and, since I don’t have any real life nations that are going to care about what goes on in my game, I’m thinking of going with a more Warren Ellis Planetary/Authority approach (real world places with supers-inspired historical changes.)
So how did Masks go last night?
So how did Masks go last night? Well, the whole team present got arrested by F.A.T.E. (the Federal Agency for Tackling the Extranormal). Fortunately, Torque (The Outsider) knows a good lawyer, the well-travelled Peter Kristofferson.
The feral scrapper Porpentine ran amok in the F.A.T.E. base, and Halfpenny (The Protégé) led the team to take him down. He got through the fight with no conditions, but praise from his villainous side mentor Quartermaster left him angry and guilty.
Panic (The Delinquent) was the team’s emotional center this week, dealing with her own emotional wreckage from the last adventure, but also comforting Halfpenny and Torque. Plus, she sparred with her worried guardian, Uncle Cas. [Check out Claire’s emo Panic cosplay!]
Oh, and in the end, Halfpenny went to therapy with Lady Hurricane, a retired superhero and psychiatric specialist in trauma related to superheroics. He unlocked the power of empathy!

Thought you guys might appreciate a new sketch.

This character was drawn for an Atomic Robo rpg game, but Dr Orbimund Nephalia would suit masks as well… probably with a less silly origin story, though.
He is indeed, a spider-mutant super-science villain who focuses on Material Sciences and wearable robotics.
(… and is totally a spider scientist from the spider dimension that got bitten by a radioactive fashionista, becoming human sized and shaped in the process…)
I’d be curious about different groups’ use of the team moves.
I’d be curious about different groups’ use of the team moves. In our adventure, these tend (as far as I can tell) to be the least used moves for all of us—partially because a number of us players don’t feel that much of a yen for the effects of the move.
We wind up sharing celebrations/revealing weaknesses and deliberately not triggering the moves a lot of the time, so I’d like to head from folks who really enjoy them.
Do people have good stories about times a team move was awesome?
Do GMs have ways they’ve sharpened their players’ need for them?

Our two-part Masks RPG adventure ended with a bang. Trying to escape the dungeons of Darkhavia, Captain Bowmaster (The Beacon) fought/kissed the supervillainess Red Cent and rescued his dad, Bart Loxley—without his mask, so Bart has questions.
Sonia (The Bull) showed up to help with Bowmaster, but declined rescue herself. She wants to learn to wield her powers with the Forge. She did put her fiery fists in Catapoltergeist’s ghostly face!
Halfpenny (The Protégé) recruited a swarm of giant bats to help the team. And, when Baron Devastation appeared, Halfpenny dared to shed the blood of the rightful ruler of Darkhavia with a razor quarter, and then tried to make peace by comforting him.
Panic (The Delinquent) directly engaged a threat for the first time, calling on her crystal ring to attack Devastation with solid illusion doppelgängers. Her shadowy patron, Mr. Hunt, then appeared, and Devastation flung the team away.
As the team left, the castle was shaking from the confrontation between Devastation and Hunt. Torque (The Outsider) had enough, and developed a new alien power in order to crush the ring to dust in his hand. The Salvatores (sans Sonia) return home, with many lingering questions.
