A quick question: How often do you, as a player, roll dice during a 2-3 hour session? I ask because I’m about to play in my fourth (or fifth) session and the MC is stating that we’re close to the end of the game. However, I’ve rolled the dice only 6 or 7 times the whole game, and only 4 times for XP. I’m a little sad that the game will end before I’m able to get any advancements. Was I not aggressive enough with my die rolling?

I’m looking for feedback on my fan Skin, The Oni. It’s based on the Oni and the Namahage from Japanese culture/mythology, and plays on bullying and conformity in the high school setting.
I’d love to hear what people think if they have time to look it over. 🙂

I did these a while back but totally forgot to share them until I was prompted yesterday. They are gender-swapped MH skins. So you can have a male Queen, a female Vampire or Fae etc. I’ve used them at UK cons and they seem to go down really well.

I love the Skins that’re available for Monsterhearts, and some of the Third Party ones I’ve seen floating around ((Topher Gerkey’s Mummy and Proxy.)) I cannot wait for the Second Skins to come out.
I was just thinking about rough ideas which I’m looking to develop.
– The Reaper – Either born into it or made a deal with death, ensuring people die the way they’re meant to, or spirits to the beyond. What happens when you know your friends are close to death, or what can come from interactions with Ghost characters.
– The Dullahan – Headless people. I was thinking something interesting to work with hats and bikers helmets. If anyone’s seen Celty from Durarara! Alternatively have a make shift head which is fine until a true form is revealed. Looking for head.
– The Sphinx – I got no further for this than the idea of Riddles and Puzzles.
– The Elemental – Pacts with Elemental spirits. Interesting dynamics and themes. Fire needs Air to live. Could be interesting.
I had a couple of others – The Dryad and The Gargoyle but they both fit in themes like The Fae or The Hollow.
Thoughts? Other ideas you’ve had but yet to write down?

I’m starting work on prep for my second session of my Monsterheart season. Here’s a few highlights of the first one.
I’m starting work on prep for my second session of my Monsterheart season. Here’s a few highlights of the first one.
The whole thing is happening in an old small town, somewhere in upstate New York. The town is called Velvet Grove. The vagina jokes became kind of a motif. I mean, the school’s football team are called the Panthers (and nicknamed the Pussies).
Dramartis Personae
Dani is Ophelia, the Infernal. She’s a dirty-blond dork who summoned the Tyrant to become beautiful and popular. She’s the last child of an old local family and is very wealthy.
Kevin is John Doe, the Hollow a female deer who woke up, one morning, as a teenager. He lives in the woods and aims to become the king. To everyone else, it’s kind of ambiguous what he means by this.
Boy Alex (I’m French Alex, the one joining us next session is Girl Alex) is Cordelia, the Witch. She’s a childhood friend of Ophelia, except that isn’t lasting long. She’s also one of the poorer kids in school.
Highlights
-Ophelia sent a girl (Raven) in a coma with the help of the Tyrant.
-Cordelia visited Raven’s dreamscape, she was trapped in a nightmare school filled with chains and flesh. Chains were sown into her arms and legs.
-Ophelia had a chat with Christina, the captain of the cheerleaders, before the tryouts. Her threats fell flat, she got punched in the face and got the condition “Abused”. She then proceded to become the new captain after a great hit on a custom move.
-Doe tried out for the football team and was attacked by one of the Quarterback’s cronies. He got a rib broken and was sent in the hospital.
-Ophelia visited Doe in the hospital and they had hospital sex. Cordelia came in as she was putting her clothes back on, they got into a fight and Ophelia was inflicted the condition “Whorephilia” after a pretty brutal fistfight.
-Cordelia left to go back home and cast a spell. Ophelia and Doe sneaked out of the hospital. The nurse there would not let Doe leave without a parent’s permission, so Ophelia asked the Tyrant for help, who swiftly broke her neck. She was, of course, the mother of one of their classmate.
-Ophelia agreed to give Doe a ride back home. Cordelia tried to get into Ophelia’s mind with a spell, but botched the roll, causing the visions of the two girls to switch. A car crash was narrowly evaded. Aroused by the danger, Ophelia tried to have sex with Doe. Doe had a flash of the Tyrant’s face, freaked out and booked it through the cemetery, into the woods and in the old haunted cabin next to the cliff where a local girl killed herself over the summer.
-The session ended with Ophelia alone in her car next to the cemetery in the middle nowhere.
Notes
I’m figuring my menaces should be the Tyrant and his cult, the quarterback and his dickish friends, Christina who just lost her spot in the Cheers, maybe the ghosts in the woods.
We have another player joining in next session too.
