It could do with a better name, I think.

Tried to post this over at the forums and saw the second question I had to answer to post a new topic and thought fuck this. If there’s supposed to be such threshold to posting on that forum maybe we’re too insular as critics of indie games say we are.

Anyway. Saga of the Icelanders is just up my alley, especially as I’m Norwegian and the Icelanders are my distant relatives.

A playbook that seems natural in that setting is the Lawspeaker. In 930 when Iceland established its Althing and thus declared independence from Norway, the lawspeaker (lógmaðr or lógsógumaðr) would recite the law at the beginning of the thing. (Tha same system of lawspeakers were applied within the rest of the scandinavian countries and Denmark). In Iceland the lawspeaker had also a presidential role. So I think it would be a natural playbook for saga of the Icelanders.

Question about battlebabe’s move dangerous & sexy.

last game time I had a player that wanted to use the move:

a)in the middle of a firefight with an enemy engaged with him to have his attention.

And

B) to tell a guy that was threatening him with a shotgun something like “give me the shotgun” like it was a charm spell.

My calls were A: yes, B: no.

What’s your experience about situations like this?

Hello awesome peoples.

Hello awesome peoples.

Hello awesome peoples. Here’s an expansion I made. It’s for any playbook. I finally got to playtest it, although it was only in one game. (A few sessions so far, and still going.) The person who played it, Matthew Lewis just so happened to make an image for it too. If you have any thoughts you’d like to add to it, comments are open.

Hello, apocalypse-powered ones.

Hello, apocalypse-powered ones.

Hello, apocalypse-powered ones. New to the group, but I’ve been running and playing ApW engine games on Infrno.net for a while.

For the Monsterhearts fans in the group, I offer you The Incubus, a rocking variation on the demonic theme. The skin models the succubi in The Gates and Lost Girl, but I called it the incubus to differentiate it from the succubus skin that’s already out there. The two are very different.

Your feedback is welcome. Glad to be here.
