Hi there!

Another question from me 😀

Our pack is not native English speakers. We are Polish. This makes some translation issues.

In US there is a move for mislead, trick and distract. Distraction does not generate any translation issue but mislead and trick means pretty the same thing in Polish or very similar one. Moreover there can be a few translation. Also english dictionary definition does not clarify the thing.

I would appreciate if you could give me clear example of when mislead kicks in and when trick. Understanding this is essential for Tainted – Don’t look at me and Fae – In our Blood.

Sorry for being dumb but we had conversation about this and i feel that we are missing something. Please help!

Hello folks, can you help me with some ideas on how to bring characters together?

Hello folks, can you help me with some ideas on how to bring characters together? I run a game for vamp, deamon Hunter, tainted and the spectre in 1989 Berlin.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Merry Xmas to you all!

Hey guys, I’m glad to join this group. I’m writing a campaign divided in two main plots to play with some friends and found that US would be the perfect system to write it as it has all the key elements for the history I’m writing. Once we start playing I’ll add here how it worked and transcript how the story is going and how much mess the players have started hehe. But, as a new MC(second time in this role, first one was as a DM for D&D 3.5 some years ago and will be the first try with US for everyone in the group, including myself) I have close to no experience in this role and I’m in need of some perspectives for each archetype, as I played mostly D&D and GURPS, and only one campaign of Vampire and one of Werewolf, I have small knowledge about the archetypes used in this system. Can you guys share with me some experiences, histories of sessions where the player demonstrated how to pilot an archetype or even books like the ones from Vampire that displays histories of each archetype?

Thanks and regards,

Vacilotto.

Hey guys :) mc’d my second session of US today.

Hey guys 🙂 mc’d my second session of US today. The story is starting to thicken, got 3 threats i need to flesh out for later.

We had a great time, even if the amount of npcs generated through moves can be a bit overwhelming at times. There ‘s one part my players have trouble with (and me too) : corruption.

Only some of my (5) players have marked 1 corruption. I suppose I should be more hardcore with the scenes I frame, but none of my players seem to seek out corruption advancements. But reading reviews and comments, the corruption system seems to be the heart and highlight of the game. Anything I’m missing ? Or is it supposed to be a slowburn ?

Any input on how you handled corruption at first ? Thanks a bunch 🙂

Gearing up to run a game of US on Twitch pretty soon, set in New Orleans because we like to cop out when we pick cities.

Anywho, I’ve been trying to come up with some good city moves. So far, I’ve sketched out these two:

* Disgorge a ghost from the terrible past.

* Raise The floodwaters when a Storm hits.

I feel like I need one more, and I don’t know whether or not the two I’ve got actually work. Suggestions?

Just wrapped up our sixth session of a game set in Los Angeles.

Just wrapped up our sixth session of a game set in Los Angeles. That’s about halfway through the planned length of our campaign, and we topped it off with a PC death. Román the Fae was killed when he trusted the wrong people with a big secret, and they came for him.

It made me wonder, how do other MCs handle PC death in Urban Shadows? I’m not looking for advice, but rather I want to hear about the high stakes situations where your PCs bet their lives and lost them. Did they run out of Scars? Or did they decide that their character’s story had come to a close?
