So, I just started a season with 3 players, and I’m wondering, how exactly does one override the creative booking in the fight by using the Break Keyfabe move? Do I roll for it, can it botch, or do I win automatically by saying it?

Concept: a pro wrestling league, set in the 90s, but every fighter and faction is named after a Voodoo Glow Skulls song. (n.b. VGS = 90s ska-punk group)
“Los Hombres Que No Lloran” – a spooky dapper trio
“Band Geek Mafia” – their foils, a kind of trolly New Day before their time
“El Coo Cooi” – a Monster for sure
“Human Piñata” – more the nickname of a hapless jobber, he kayfabe hates it
“Bulletproof” – a Technician w decent Power
“Shoot the Moon” – actually a finisher that any wrestler can do when the time is right
“Baile de Los Locos” – definitely a large, wild faction of 2 masked superstars and like 12 masked jobbers; only wrestles noDQ matches
When you try to take control of an injured Cultural Champion, you have to break kayfabe.
Do you still use the other results of the Break Kayfabe move? I feel like yes, that makes sense. The bookers backstage expect you to follow the “star’s” lead.

Regarding those gimmicks that don’t have Finishing Moves (the Manager and the Boss), is Creative just unable to book them in matches, or can they never be booked to win, or what?
The only thing I can find in the book is that when Creative calls for the end of the match the wrestler booked to win should roll their Finishing Move (or equivalent) but as far as I can see it makes zero sense for either of the Manager nor Boss’ equivalents to be rolled in that situation.

Nathan Paoletta I know you just updated everything and all, but is the Clown move “Surprisingly Talented” supposed to not have the “before spending momentum” tag that so many other 10+ moves do?
Or is it cool if they roll a 9, spend 1 momentum, to get 2 back and +1 heat with their opponent?
The WWWRPG and WWW:II digital bundles have been updated to match the latest reprints of the physical books. Mostly typos and boring publishing information, but I took the latest reprints as opportunities to clean up those files and covers, so they’re slightly different than older books.
As part of this I did a sweep of the downloadable Gimmick sheets and play aids, made some error corrections and visual tweaks to make those easier to reference at a glance. All materials have a date updated in a lower corner, the most current ones say “Updated 2018”. You can download the new sheets at the game page: https://ndpdesign.com/wwwrpg
I also consolidated the PWYW mini-supplements into one convenient place! The Expanded Universe bundle includes the Season 1 and Season 2 Gimmicks and Guest Stars, along with a print-and-play PDF of the Move Cards (originally a Kickstarter exclusive, I actually forgot I’d made one until someone asked me about it recently!). These have also had visual tweaks made, so if you use any of these Gimmicks in your games and want the latest, you’ll need to download it again. Available at Payhip ( https://payhip.com/b/sN5f ) and DriveThruRPG. The Road continues to exist as a separate download, I think it’s worth the featured standalone status!
Hi everyone! I’m looking for a group to play WWW on Roll20. Ideally 4-6 people based in GMT timezone and with a little wrestling knowledge, but I’ll take anyone who’s interested. Hit me back for details.
Hi all. My group has tried running WWW for two sessions now, and are enjoying large parts of it – except the actual wrestling part…
We find the matches get a bit stale, with one side rolling a bit, then the other, then a finisher, and maybe a Heel stealing the win. It just feels a bit ‘by-the-numbers’. This could be because all the players are relatively inexperienced with Wrestling itself, but their descriptions are good enough.
What are we missing? How to make the actual wrestling parts of the Episode more interesting?
